We are seeking highly motivated and skilled professionals to join our team at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the field of space weather research. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for predicting and mitigating the effects of space weather on our technological systems.
About the PositionWe are looking for a talented individual to join our Space Weather Impact department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and investigate methods for measuring, evaluating, and predicting physical and technical quantities that describe the effects of space weather on technical systems. You will work closely with our team to analyze data, develop models, and implement solutions to improve our understanding of space weather and its impact on our infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Develop and operate an automated processing system for space weather data
- Process and analyze observation data to investigate space weather effects on technical systems
- Develop and implement scientific methods for data assimilation into space weather models
- Develop and validate methods for measuring and predicting physical and technical variables that describe space weather effects
- Develop and orchestrate systems for distributed data analysis and globally distributed measurement infrastructure
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., physics, geophysics, computer science)
- Basic knowledge of space weather and its effects on technical systems
- Practical experience in software development and data analysis
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn new topics and processes quickly
