Job Title: Senior Applied Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our team at Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH. As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and applying state-of-the-art Machine Learning methods to large amounts of data from different sources to build and productionalize fraud prevention, detection, and mitigation solutions.

About the Role

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and applying Machine Learning methods to large amounts of data from different sources to build and productionalize fraud prevention, detection, and mitigation solutions
  • Actively contributing to the development of our ML Ops infrastructure
  • Actively contributing to the creation and delivery of our science roadmap which includes Gen AI efforts
  • Working closely with software engineering teams to deploy your innovations
  • Mentoring and coaching junior scientists
  • Publishing your work at internal and external conferences/journals
  • Providing on-call product support approximately once every 3 months

You will be part of a team of Applied Scientists, Research Scientists, Data Scientists, Investigations Analysts, and Technical & non-Technical Program Managers and Software Engineers. Our team is dedicated to supporting new members and has a broad mix of experience levels, functions, and tenures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • PhD plus experience (3+ years) or MS plus experience (6+ years) in ML, NLP, computer vision, or related fields
  • Experience in building machine learning models for business application
  • Research expertise in deep learning
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience in publishing research papers
  • Experience in Generative Models
