About the Role

We are Safran Passenger Innovations Germany GmbH, a mid-size innovation-driven company, part of the international high-technology Group Safran. Job Summary

The Software Product Manager will act within the Product Management team, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for product management of connectivity software through all product lifecycle phases in a cost-effective manner, according to company policies and procedures, and within budgetary guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Execute product management tasks in coordination with Program Management in accordance with Safran's PROMPT process.
  • Define software products for inflight connectivity, roadmaps, and features.
  • Define product briefs, use cases, high-level requirements, and acceptance criteria for connectivity software products.
  • Coordinate with the IFC Product Management to ensure compatibility between system-wide software functions and HW requirements.
  • Manage dependencies between software modules with respect to ISP/MSPs and IFE product line.
  • Control internal and external supplier projects to develop the software products in coordination with program management.
  • Manage and assess technological evolutions, feature upgrades, security patches, and change requests for software products.
  • Support export classifications for software products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into software product requirements.
  • Continuously contribute to improve established processes.
Requirements
  • Successfully completed studies in computer sciences or another comparable study program.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Software Product Management or Product Development.
  • Ability to envision and analyze software products holistically at system level.
  • Good working knowledge in the field of networking protocols, Virtual Machines / Docker / Cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Product Development processes and Software Life Cycle (in particular software specification and requirements).
  • Experience with Project and Product Management tools (e.g. Trello, Kanban, JIRA, MS Office applications including Excel, Project etc.).
  • Experience in Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) industry advantageous.
  • Experience with DOORS is advantageous.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proactive, organized, and a team player mindset.
  • Capable of working independently, with minimal direction, on multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Able to use discretion and independent judgment when making decisions on behalf of the company.
  • Capable of negotiating mutually agreeable conclusions to conflicts.
