As the Solutions Specialist for Medical Device Software Development, your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and support to clients within the medical technology and life sciences fields throughout the initiation and execution of software development initiatives. You will leverage your expertise at every stage, from the initial technical concept to the successful deployment of pioneering medical devices that redefine the market landscape.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Developing client presentations, project proposals, and other materials to facilitate effective communication and attract new business opportunities.
- Consulting with clients on the definition and design of successful products tailored to their industry, ensuring the technical execution of their solutions and the successful delivery of projects.
- Initiating new software development projects and assuming the role of technical leader for project teams during the early phases of development.
- Producing expert publications and delivering presentations for industry-specific media and events.
- Building trustworthy collaborations and fostering relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.
- Identifying client requirements, challenges, and potential solutions within their organizations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience in the IT sector as a software architect, developer, or consultant.
- A background in the medical technology or life sciences industry is essential.
- Experience in leading software development teams in a technical capacity.
- Proficient in creating, developing, documenting, and ensuring the quality of software solutions for medical devices.
- Experience in software development for Linux and Windows environments using C++, C#, .NET, both embedded and desktop applications.
- Preferably knowledgeable in application technologies for interoperable medical devices and relevant connectivity protocols (e.g., SDC / gRPC / MQTT).
- Additional experience in cloud solutions, web applications, IoT, mobile applications, and mainstream programming languages/frameworks (e.g., Java / Spring, TypeScript / Angular / React, Python) is a plus.
- Familiarity with common medical technologies and standards such as HL7 FHIR, DICOM, IEEE 11073 SDC, as well as development processes and industry standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304) within the medical technology or life sciences sector.
- Hands-on experience in executing software development projects using agile methodologies (especially SCRUM) and configuring technical project infrastructure (e.g., continuous delivery/integration, infrastructure as code).
- Knowledge of common cybersecurity requirements, particularly in healthcare, and appropriate solution strategies.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and coaching.
- Fluency in English for business communication, with proficiency in German being an advantage.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong client orientation with an affinity for sales and business development.
