About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Expert to join our Group Packaging Competence Team as a Group Packaging Expert Flexible. This is a 2-year contract position based in Düsseldorf.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing innovative, future-oriented packaging materials that prioritize sustainability, resource conservation, and efficiency. This includes the creation of flexible packaging materials, as well as the further development of existing technologies and processes.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Group Packaging, Regional Packaging Teams across Europe, Marketing, Sustainability, and Group Procurement to drive new business opportunities and develop cutting-edge packaging solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of our international flexible packaging strategy.
- Identify current or potential risks and opportunities for improvement in our packaging portfolio, focusing on standardization, harmonization, and simplification.
- Oversee flexible packaging projects, defining measures to achieve targets and drive business growth.
- Manage, monitor, control, and report on flexible packaging initiatives, considering total cost of ownership, in close partnership with stakeholders.
- Drive sustainability projects to reduce packaging material weight and waste, ensuring compliance with Intersnack Group requirements.
- Master's degree in packaging technology or a comparable technical field.
- 4 years of relevant professional experience in the packaging sector, preferably in the development and implementation of new flexible packaging or flexible packaging materials.
- In-depth understanding and practical experience in flexible packaging processing and packaging processes, ideally in food production.
- Experience in portfolio analysis and development of standards.
- Knowledge of project management methods and proven ability to lead complex projects in a multinational organization.
- Flexible, independent team player with a positive attitude and willingness to provide support as needed.
- Fluent business English (written/spoken) is mandatory, and German is an advantage.
- Domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time is possible.
