The Research & Safety Market Division in Europe is forging a connection between commerce and science, serving as the definitive single-source channel for a comprehensive array of laboratory equipment, chemicals, instruments, life sciences reagents, and consumable supplies. Our regional framework encompasses sales offices and logistics centers across 18 countries in Europe, strategically positioned to ensure prompt and responsive delivery to our clients. The role of the Commercial Tender Specialist involves collaborating within a diverse, multicultural team to understand client needs and devise solutions by leveraging both internal and external suppliers. Continuous investment in our sales teams is paramount, driving the successful business growth integral to the Research & Safety Market Division in Europe.
Within the Academic segment, you will cultivate sales derived from public tenders, which entails analyzing requests, coordinating product selection, and formulating pricing proposals in close collaboration with tender specialists and account managers, all in accordance with company sales policies.

A day in the life: Ensure the achievement or surpassing of sales targets by identifying and developing opportunities arising from public and academic tenders. Establish and nurture strong relationships with local account managers to ensure that product and pricing information is integrated into tender responses and strategic insights about customers are collected. Evaluate tender content provided by tender specialists to qualify leads on high-value accounts and participate in Go/No Go decisions to maximize win rates and revenue. Coordinate relevant functions to ensure appropriate product selection, involving suppliers, technical application specialists, cross-reference tools, and teams. Optimize pricing offers in collaboration with local account managers and regional sales managers, aligning with company sales strategies and market dynamics. Collaborate closely with local tender specialists by supplying all necessary technical and commercial information to facilitate timely completion of tender submissions. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and opportunities. Analyze lost tenders and develop strategies with account managers and tender specialists to improve chances of winning in subsequent rounds. Maintain a library of technical documents utilized in tenders for future reference as needed. The keys to success: Proficiency in both German and English. Recognized qualifications in sciences with a solid understanding of laboratory products. Strong telephone etiquette and excellent listening and questioning skills. Practical knowledge of the sales process. Previous experience in tele-sales or sales is advantageous; newly qualified graduates are welcome. Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and training sessions. Home-office based role with occasional travel to meet clients or attend meetings and training sessions. Good understanding of the German and Austrian markets, with a readiness to assist sales personnel and provide exceptional support. Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in Excel.
