Cyber Security Engineering Manager (m/f/d)

Hapag-Lloyd's container fleet includes one of the largest and most advanced reefer container fleets, ensuring swift and reliable service across more than 400 ports worldwide. In addition, the company holds stakes in 20 terminals across Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa, with around 2,000 employees dedicated to terminal operations and complementary logistics services.
Role Overview:
As the Cyber Security Engineering Manager, you will serve as a vital link between various Security Operation capabilities, focusing on monitoring, detection, and prevention strategies. You will spearhead proof of concept initiatives for new security measures and facilitate discussions on security architecture in collaboration with Enterprise Security Architects and Platform Security Leads, contributing to the strategic roadmap for implementation.
This role, reporting to the Head of Security Operations, will involve close collaboration with colleagues from the CISO organization and cross-functional teams, playing a crucial part in enhancing the overall enterprise security engineering framework. You will lead the vision and strategy for securing endpoints and both on-premises and cloud-based applications and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Mitigate risks associated with Hapag-Lloyd's infrastructure, systems, and applications by continuously enhancing security configurations and ensuring compliance with industry and governmental regulations. Oversee configuration baselines to guide the management and fortification of systems and endpoints against security threats. Establish measurable priorities for monitoring, detection, and prevention controls. Direct proof of concept initiatives for tools, addressing gaps in protection and detection solutions in alignment with the CISO strategy. Facilitate security architecture discussions with Enterprise Security Architects and Platform Security Leads. Utilize Agile methodologies to enhance team performance and streamline stakeholder interactions. Identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure timely remediation. Collaborate effectively with business architects, engineers, developers, and senior management. Implement analytical techniques and tools to diagnose and resolve security issues, proposing solutions that align with business interests.Qualifications:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Over 5 years of technical experience in areas such as Security Operations, Incident Response, IT Security Assurance, Network Security Administration, Security Engineering, or Penetration Testing. Deep understanding of Detection Engineering, Zero Trust principles, Cryptography, CASB, and Security Architecture. Experience with recognized security frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, CIS, OWASP) and cloud security best practices. Strong communication skills for conveying technical results to senior staff and management. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CCSP) are highly desirable. Management-level experience in information security or related domains within large organizations. Familiarity with automation and metrics analysis is advantageous. Proficient in managing project plans and budgets. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.Benefits:
