Your Role

As a Senior Development Engineer, you will shape the future of Hellma actively. You will look beyond known technologies and be motivated to drive innovations together with us that will excite our customers. One of the unique aspects of Hellma is its high level of manufacturing depth, from the production of its own materials to the complete, application-oriented assembly group. In this sense, you will work on the (further) development and continuous product care of our cuvettes, flow channels, and fiber-optic systems, as well as accompany numerous development, customer, and optimization projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Development of the Hellma product portfolio and development of customer-specific products based on the input of the product development and optimization process
• Joint implementation of requirement workshops with our customers, the responsible customer service representatives, and the project team
• Definition and, if necessary, implementation of feasibility studies, pre-tests, quick checks, suitable tests of prototypes, and determination of test parameters for routine control in cooperation with quality assurance
• Realization of mechanical and simple optical calculations
• Ensuring a production- and cost-optimized product development
• Support of the preparation work for the introduction of new products into series production and the implementation of product optimizations

Your Profile

• Completed studies as a Dipl. Ing., Bachelor, or Master in the field of mechanical engineering, precision engineering, or physical engineering, or a comparable degree
• Several years of professional experience as a product developer and in project leadership
• Good understanding of the design and construction of optical and/or precision mechanical components/assembly groups
• Experience in the use of 3D CAD systems and PDM systems
• Proficient use of all MS Office applications and good ERP knowledge
• Experience in the use of various methods and tools in project management and moderation
• Excellent communication and team skills, as well as high customer and service orientation
• Creativity and solution orientation
• Structured, analytical, and independent working style
• Very good German and English skills in writing and speaking
