Your Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced risk management and optimization models, integrating them into our system infrastructure and processes.
  • Ensure that these models and analyses are effectively utilized within the company to facilitate commercial functions for managing financial risks (market, credit, liquidity, weather) and contribute to the creation of new business opportunities while supporting and improving risk management.
  • Collaborate across functions and levels to deliver solutions, understanding front-to-end business processes and working effectively and collaboratively.
  • Initial focus on portfolio and risk models, with the goal of offering a broad range of engagement opportunities to team members over time.
  • Encourage dialogue and challenge the status quo constructively to drive continuous business improvement.
  • Support Uniper's digital roadmap by leveraging techniques like machine learning or cloud computing to deliver better solutions.
  • Take responsibility for individual projects and their implementation.
  • Experienced candidates are expected to mentor and develop junior team members.

Your Profile

  • Your background in mathematics, physics, or a related field has provided you with solid skills in mathematical and statistical methods and the ability to creatively solve quantitative problems.
  • You're familiar with common numerical algorithms, optimization algorithms, and stochastic calculations. Experience in these areas is beneficial.
  • You have experience in developing quantitative financial models. A successful track record in providing such models in a commercial environment or experience in the energy markets is advantageous.
  • You have experience in implementing quantitative models in a major compiled programming language like C++, C#, Java, or Scala and are familiar with Python. Ideally, you also have initial experience with cloud-based development.
  • You're motivated by close teamwork in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • You enjoy working with various stakeholders from the company to ensure the commercial value of your analyses and can communicate complex quantitative and technical content clearly and concisely.
  • You speak fluent English and can hold high-quality presentations and documentation in English.
