We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Policy Expert to join our team in Frankfurt. As a key member of our Office of Government Affairs, you will play a critical role in shaping our firm's regulatory policy and advocacy strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise senior executives and various departments across Goldman Sachs on the implications of key policies and regulations, ensuring consistent interpretation and execution of necessary requirements.
- Build relationships and work with a wide range of internal stakeholders in determining the firm's views on proposals and the appropriate mechanism for advocacy/response.
- Develop advocacy strategies on proposed regulatory policies and lead engagement with trade associations, policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Build relationships with external stakeholders, including with regulators, peer firms, and trade & industry bodies, and represent the Firm's policy views in these fora.
- Deliver verbal and written briefings and analyses on complex topics to a wide range of internal stakeholders, including senior management.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in government, public policy, law, and/or a multinational corporation.
- Expert knowledge of financial services regulation and public policy context and demonstrated experience with EU regulatory policy issues.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively engage senior stakeholders in English and at least one European language.
- Ease working across a range of complex issues; ability to learn new topics quickly and move between subjects.
- Demonstrated analytical and independent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and strong collaborative decision-making skills.
- Strong initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative thinking.
- Highest level of integrity and professionalism.
- Preferred language skills: German.
