This full-time role as a Cybersecurity and Data Protection Specialist offers you opportunities for personal and professional growth, insights into the startup ecosystem, and the chance to be part of an inspiring deep-tech venture.
You will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of our critical IT systems.
The position encompasses social, legal, and technical dimensions.
As the designated Data Protection Officer, you will have the authority to voice concerns freely within the organization without any conflict of interest or fear of repercussions.
Moreover, you will be allocated time and resources to enhance your knowledge on IT security topics and stay abreast of the latest advancements in the cybersecurity field.
This is a full-time opportunity, with the flexibility to work entirely from the office or partially remotely. However, you will be required to visit the office periodically for team-building activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical
- Stay informed about the latest developments in cybersecurity.
- Conduct static and dynamic security analyses of the software developed by Codesphere.
- Implement automated testing and scanning solutions.
- Apply the latest security patches across all levels, including Linux operating systems, Kubernetes, and Typescript software stacks.
- Address security vulnerabilities and deploy necessary fixes.
Policy
- Assume the official role of Data Protection Officer.
- Draft and enforce company-wide security policies.
- Assist in achieving ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications for the company.
Communication
- Engage with clients regarding IT security concerns and provide consultation on solutions.
- Collaborate with independent security researchers as part of our public bug bounty initiative.
- Foster security awareness within the organization, conduct employee training, and organize security hackathons.
Exclusions
- Full responsibility for ISO and SOC compliance.
- Sales calls unrelated to security matters.
- On-call support duties.
Essential Qualifications
- Proficient in both English and German (written and spoken).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT security.
- Approximately 1 year of experience with OOP languages (through personal, educational, or professional experience).
- Capable of safely implementing changes to Kubernetes clusters.
- Able to enforce security measures on Linux servers.
- Familiar with CI systems (e.g., Jenkins or similar).
- Understanding of legal frameworks such as GDPR, CLOUD Act, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized within the IT security community.
- Experience assisting in a company's certification process.
