About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Process Development Engineer to join our team at BASF Schwarzheide GmbH. As a key member of our process and procedure optimization unit, you will play a crucial role in the continuous improvement of our production processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive literature review on regioselective functionalization of aromatics and gather relevant information.
  • With practical application: synthesize the desired aromatics and optimize the reactions in terms of selectivity and yield.
  • Based on your research and experimental results, evaluate the economic viability of the developed methods.

Requirements

  • Ongoing Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related field.
  • First-hand experience in laboratory work, preferably with a focus on organic synthesis.
  • Proficiency in organic chemistry, preferably in conjunction with technical chemistry.
  • Proficient use of standard IT applications.
  • Effective communication in German and basic English skills.
