Job Title: Trainee Finnish Translator

As a trainee translator, you will be responsible for translating a wide range of texts from English into Finnish, including financial and economic materials. Your role will involve:

  • Translating complex texts from English to Finnish, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proofreading and editing Finnish texts to ensure high-quality output.
  • Identifying and extracting terminology in Finnish, contributing to the development of the bank's translation memories.
  • Collaborating with the Finnish team to provide linguistic and drafting advice as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in modern languages or translation.
  • Experience in translating English texts into Finnish, either as part of a degree course or in a professional context.
  • Native-speaker standard (C2) command of Finnish and an advanced (C1) command of English.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office package, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable qualifications include a master's degree in modern languages or translation, an intermediate (B1) command of another official EU language, and familiarity with computer-assisted translation tools such as Trados Studio.
