About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH - R28 team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the Linux distribution that powers Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a focus on Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

Key Responsibilities
  • Work backwards from the customer to build, maintain, and improve the tools and services that ensure every Amazon Linux release meets the high quality bar.
  • Collaborate with developers and leaders to raise the bar with every release.
  • Communicate effectively through written communication.
  • Support peers and junior colleagues in their growth.
  • Strive to improve both your skills and the work you deliver.
About the Team

Our team is responsible for building and maintaining the Linux distribution that powers Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a focus on Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). We're a collaborative team that values diversity, inclusion, and innovation.

Requirements
  • Experience in professional software development.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Development experience in a Linux environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems.
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl).
  • Experience in release excellence or software testing.
  • Experience with version control systems, CI/CD, and test automation tools.
