Internship in Geostationary Satellite Data Analysis

About the Internship
EUMETSAT is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the Geostationary Ring Climate Data Record project. The successful candidate will assist in analyzing new data records from geostationary satellites, identifying image anomalies, and presenting intermediate and final results.
Responsibilities
- Inspect new satellite images and identify image anomalies using existing methodologies, including machine learning.
- Present intermediate and final results to the team.
- Write a report on the activities and achieved results.
- Support relevant day-to-day activities within the team.
Requirements
- Basic Python programming skills and experience working in a Unix/Linux environment are mandatory.
- Basic experience in Earth data analysis and a general understanding of Earth climate would be advantageous.
- Knowledge on database usage would be advantageous.
Working Conditions
The internship will require a non-disclosure agreement and potentially a basic background check for the intern, due to the sensitivity of the provided information. No salary is paid to interns who are still in studies, however a daily allowance and contribution to travel / accommodation costs may be provided.
