About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Payment Gateway team as a Backend Developer Python/Perl. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and performance of our payment processing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with our legacy Perl system to provide support and maintenance, as well as extend current features.
  • Implement Microservices in Python to support the legacy system.
  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side components of our payment gateway platform, focusing on high performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and implement new features.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external services into existing systems to enhance functionality and usability.
  • Optimize code for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Work closely with DevOps to deploy, scale, and maintain applications in cloud environments, with a focus on CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in developing microservices.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Desired and great if you have Perl, for supporting and maintaining legacy systems. However, we are also considering candidates that have a desire to Learn Perl from scratch and work with it.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
  • Strong knowledge of server-side technologies and frameworks such as one of the following: Django, FastApi.
  • Familiarity with gitlab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with integrating third-party APIs and external services.
  • Experience with payment gateway platforms or similar financial systems is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A customer-centric, empathetic mindset with excellent listening skills.
  • An ability to focus on what counts, creating simple solutions to deliver fast results.

  • Our office is based in Frankfurt am Main, and hybrid working is available.

UK, Germany and Netherlands have the option to work on Hybrid work model. Onsite work model for Cyprus. Applying from the rest of the world can be based on a fully remote work model on B2B contracts.
