Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Universität Duisburg-Essen / Research Alliance Ruhr. The successful candidate will work on a multidisciplinary project that aims to bridge theoretical advancements and practical applications in the field of Large Language Models.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research that systematically examines outputs of Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Design and execute controlled behavioral experiments to assess how outputs by LLMs affect human cooperative and ethical behavior
  • Fine-tune models for experimentation
  • Independently analyze quantitative data
  • Collaborate with researchers from different disciplines to develop innovative approaches for human-centered use of LLMs
Requirements
  • Excellent degree (Master of Science) in computer science, psychology, communication science, information systems, statistics, or related fields
  • High degree of creativity, commitment, and analytical competence
  • Motivation to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • High proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for scientific publications and presentations
  • German language proficiency is desirable but not a must
