Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Architect to join our team. As an IT Architect - Connectivity and Network Security Specialist, you will be responsible for defining the IT architecture by balancing tactical business requirements, strategic value creation, and technological future-proofing. You will work closely with internal and external partners and providers to implement the company-specific network and unified communication architecture and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the IT architecture by balancing tactical business requirements, strategic value creation, and technological future-proofing.
- Work closely with internal and external partners and providers to implement the company-specific network and unified communication architecture and strategy.
- Develop and maintain architectural documents, including architecture roadmaps and governance frameworks.
- Represent the department in other RWE architecture forums and ensure alignment with company-wide architecture initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and market developments, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design solutions that meet business needs and technical requirements.
- Support governance, risk, compliance, and IT security alignments, and ensure that all architecture decisions are aligned with company policies and procedures.
- Interface with RWE business partners, IT infrastructure portfolio management, and RWE business stakeholders related to architecture topics.
- Consult on business cases or tenders for new projects, technologies, or suppliers, and provide input on architecture-related aspects.
- Prototype new technologies and solutions to demonstrate their feasibility and potential impact.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in network technologies, cloud (Azure & AWS), unified communications, and managing partners and providers.
- Excellent knowledge in development, design, and operation of cloud network services, including Zero Trust Network Access.
- Excellent knowledge in telephony services, collaboration, and media services.
- Solid understanding of services like IPAM, external DNS, and domain management.
- Solid end-to-end understanding in the area of network and connectivity.
- Goal and team orientation, analytical and organizational skills, as well as conceptual, analytical, and solution-oriented thinking and working.
- Understanding of overarching technical and commercial contexts, as well as strong interpersonal and methodological skills.
- Business fluent in English and German, and willingness to travel.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with hybrid cloud networking.
- Understanding of on-premise networking technology stack (willingness to learn).
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Python, and AzureDevOps.
- Cloud Certifications such as Azure Network Engineer Associate or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
