In the Terminal & Infrastructure division, Hapag-Lloyd holds interests in 20 terminals across Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa, supported by around 2,600 employees who manage terminal operations and logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee responsibilities segmented by geographical regions globally, providing essential support to regional procurement teams.
  • Ensure comprehensive strategic management of the terminal vendor portfolio, focusing on vendor categorization and sourcing strategies.
  • Enhance the terminal procurement function through the implementation of methods and frameworks, including supplier relationship management and terminal playbooks.
  • Contribute to the establishment of procurement frameworks and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement teams to execute category strategies effectively.
  • Develop and implement negotiation strategies with assigned terminal operators, ensuring that insights and lessons learned are documented systematically.
  • Work in conjunction with contract management to guarantee adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Execute strategic supplier management initiatives and foster stakeholder relationships.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities presented by various terminal operators to enhance value through collaboration.
  • Conduct research and gather insights relevant to the vendor segment.
  • Provide market intelligence to internal stakeholders and regional teams.
  • Align with internal and external procurement stakeholders to identify additional value creation opportunities for the assigned vendor segment.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in business administration, logistics, transportation management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, shipping, terminal operations, or a related area.
  • At least 3 years of experience in procurement roles, including negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience studying or working abroad is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in research.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Results-driven, enthusiastic, proactive, and adept at problem-solving.
