Key Responsibilities:
- Procure site-specific requirements as allocated, including CapEx, MRO, services, and materials.
- Analyze and have good knowledge of the local procurement market for goods and services, including the supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends, and cost drivers.
- Identify supply risk and execute risk mitigation strategies; drive supplier development and initiate supplier quality improvements.
- Manage suppliers, including developing and maintaining an effective supplier assessment program.
- Achieve cost reductions and avoidances, create cash flow improvements, and lead time reductions.
- Establish key supplier agreements, delivering innovative improvements, and maintain supplier relationships.
- Participate in or lead regional and global procurement projects.
- Collaborate with local and global teams and suppliers to support the development and implementation of strategies.
- Optimize total costs of the German sites, including the development and implementation of cost-saving programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procurement plans and best practices.
- Negotiate and draft individual and framework contracts and award them.
- Identify and assess risks and benefits of procurement decisions and clearly present proposals to mitigate risks.
- Contribute to the annual budget process by providing reliable cost exclusions and realistic forecasts.
Requirements:
- Successfully completed studies or alternatively commercial vocational training and many years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing.
- Many years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in an internationally operating production company.
- Very good experience in supplier and contract management.
- Good knowledge of SAP (MM) and MS Office.
- Very good knowledge of German and English.
- Team player who enjoys working with direct and indirect colleagues.
- Experience in cross-functional projects.
- Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach to work.
- Very good negotiation and communication skills at all levels.
