Research Scientist in Agricultural Systems Modelling

We are seeking a passionate and driven Research Scientist specializing in Agricultural Systems Modelling with a focus on innovative phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop process-based mathematical models for agricultural systems.
- Conduct simulation studies of the modeled systems.
- Support life cycle assessments (LCA) at both process and product levels in collaboration with project partners.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Actively participate in the coordination and engagement of the EcoNutri project.
- Prepare scientific publications and present findings to both the international project consortium and the scientific community.
Qualifications:
- PhD with a focus on systems modelling in horticultural or agricultural contexts.
- Strong expertise in process-based mathematical modelling of crop production systems.
- Proficient in mathematical analytics with the ability to translate processes into equations and systems.
- Experience in systems modelling, preferably with programming skills in Matlab.
- Knowledge or interest in life cycle assessment, ideally with familiarity in SimaPro.
- Excellent organizational and English communication skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude, with the ability to take initiative.
- Willingness to integrate into an international working environment.
