Offshore Wind Project Engineer

As a key member of Elbe 1 GmbH, a prominent consultancy firm based in Hamburg, Germany, we specialize in the development and execution of offshore wind and renewable energy initiatives. Our organization offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to various project stages, including EPCI project management, technical and strategic advisory, market analysis, due diligence, benchmarking, and ensuring compliance with technical processes for offshore wind and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead Project Certifications: Direct and manage certification processes within offshore wind project teams.
- Develop Certification Plans: Create and implement certification strategies while monitoring action items to guarantee timely and high-quality document completion, in line with established milestones and schedules.
- Stakeholder Negotiation: Engage with stakeholders regarding the scope, timeline, format, and content of certification and validation, including defending documented validation justifications to certifiers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Update Certification Documentation: Regularly revise certification requirements and documentation to ensure alignment with design principles.
- Validation of Employer Requirements: Assess and validate employer requirements against relevant certification standards.
- Manage Project Interfaces: Coordinate interactions with certification bodies, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Consultation Services: Provide expert advice to internal departments on best practices for certification, problem-solving, and industry-specific challenges (e.g., load analysis, flange assessments, wind and ice loads).
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of standards and guidelines.
- Project Management Support: Assist in project management activities, including planning, tracking progress, coordinating with clients, and documenting outcomes.
- A completed bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a technical setting, preferably in certification management and engineering.
- Familiarity with specific certification standards such as IEC, DNVGL-ST, and other relevant norms in the offshore wind sector across Germany and Europe.
- Experience in the offshore wind or renewable energy sectors.
- Exceptional communication skills for effectively conveying information to diverse project stakeholders.
- A proactive work approach and the ability to quickly understand technical contexts.
- Proficiency in both English and German.
- Willingness to travel within Europe and potentially beyond.
- A collaborative team player with an interest in working in an international project environment.
