Project Overview: We specialize in developing optical metrology systems utilizing coherent illumination and detection techniques for precise determination of the pose (six degrees of freedom) of workpieces. Achieving maximum precision requires optimal design and calibration of the measurement systems. As part of this internship, you will:
- Create and test innovative algorithms for pose estimation.
- Conduct proof-of-concept experiments on prototypes.
- Assess alternative metrology approaches.
- Research existing methodologies in scientific and patent literature.
- Perform quantitative simulations to analyze tolerance budgets.
- Document and report on test findings.
Qualifications:
- A background in STEM fields (Photonics, Physics, Computer Vision, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
- Ideally, a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, or C++.
- A keen interest in metrology.
