Senior Engineering Manager, Data Platform

As a Senior Engineering Manager, Data Platform, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Personio's data infrastructure. You will lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable data systems that enable our customers to make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive data platform strategy that aligns with Personio's business goals and objectives.
- Hiring: Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent to build a high-performing and collaborative team.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineers in your team, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and excellence.
- Delivery: Oversee the planning and execution of data platform development projects, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality applications.
- Partnership: Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to align initiatives with business objectives and user needs.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and industry best practices in development, and drive innovation within the team.
- Communication: Effectively communicate your team's strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- 5+ years of management experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to attract, motivate, and inspire new engineers to achieve exceptional results.
- Ability to lead and make decisions to push forward, with a comfort level owning even the most ambiguous problems and defining the road ahead.
- Experience managing complex development projects, including planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas, influence stakeholders, and build relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges and make data-driven decisions.
- Passion for building reliable distributed systems and experience with microservices architecture.
- Bonus: At least 1-2 years of experience managing managers.
