Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated student to engage in a master's thesis focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability within the framework of the EU Taxonomy. This role will involve conducting expert interviews with select customers to gather insights and develop design principles for an AI-based prototype.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct expert interviews with five chosen SAP clients to understand their approaches to determining eligible screening scopes.
  • Analyze customer processes and data sources to derive IT design principles for an AI-driven solution.
  • Collaborate with EY (Ernst & Young) to ensure an auditing perspective is integrated into the research.
  • Utilize tools such as MaxQDA for organizing and evaluating interview data.
  • Prepare a mock-up solution based on the findings and present it as part of the thesis.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a student (f/m/d) from a university or university of applied sciences, who is proactive, resilient, and eager to learn. You should have a keen interest in innovative projects and a commitment to lifelong learning.

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Methodical work, particularly in expert interviews, process analysis, and information technology.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP), chatbot development, and large language models. Knowledge of IT design and architecture is essential.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in German and English.

Thesis Objectives:

This research aims to establish a foundation for developing an AI-based prototype that functions similarly to a robo-advisor. The project will explore how to automate the determination of eligible screening scopes while addressing the challenges posed by evolving Taxonomy regulations.

Upon completion, we aim to publish the findings in a scientific journal, contributing to the academic discourse on AI and sustainability.
