About the Team

At E.ON, our data capabilities are divided into two main areas: "data as an asset for innovation" and "data usages such as AI and data analytics". These capabilities are structured within distinct units. As a Technical Data Governance Manager (f/m/d), your primary focus will be on the "data as an asset for innovation" pillar. You will be responsible for designing and implementing data governance and management capabilities across various digital technologies, platforms, and business units that align with our data strategy. In this role, you will define and operationalize processes that ensure data governance and compliance, while enhancing the organization's ability to manage data assets throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and scale data governance processes across diverse data programs, systems, and digital innovations throughout the organization.
  • Create and automate documentation processes for metadata within a dedicated data catalog, including complex ETL processes and compliance requirements.
  • Gather compliance and business requirements, coordinate specialized task forces, and provide expert guidance.
  • Enhance the central data governance framework, defining and formalizing roles and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the data strategy and support its implementation across the organization with a focus on technical aspects.
  • Facilitate upskilling and knowledge sharing on data governance and management concepts across the organization.
  • Lead the definition and operationalization of sub-strategies for data management and governance.
  • Research industry trends on leveraging data for competitive advantage and identify opportunities for data-driven innovation.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in data engineering, data modeling, informatics, data science, economics, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in project management, data engineering, and the technical operationalization of data governance processes.
  • Strong understanding of data management, governance, strategy, and architecture tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with metadata management concepts and technical connections to databases and reporting tools.
  • Experience in building enterprise business glossaries and implementing data ownership in data catalog tools.
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale data enablement and transformation projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent consulting, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to connect legal obligations with organizational and technical implications.
