Position Overview:
The Product Support Manager (PrSM) is responsible for overseeing one or more Product Support Work Streams (PrS WS). This role is crucial for ensuring the maintenance and enhancement of products to guarantee reliable market supply and optimize profitability throughout the product lifecycle, aligning with the strategic objectives set by the Brand Teams.
The Product Support Manager serves as the primary Operations liaison with Commercial (Marketing), Project Management, Drug Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance. Responsibilities include coordinating Operations resources necessary for product support, focusing on key processes such as:
- Enhancing gross margin through Target Cost Initiatives.
- Streamlining the supply chain.
- Continuous improvement of products and processes.
- Geographic expansions and New Product Introductions (NPIs).
- Collaborative development for Life-Cycle Management (LCM) and Improved Therapeutic Benefits (ITBs).
- Ensuring product compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities within the Product Support Work Stream, ensuring prioritization of value-added tasks and effective management by all team members.
- Represent EPO (Operations) in Brand Teams, aligning strategies between the Brand Team and Product Support Work Streams.
- Identify and coordinate initiatives to enhance product gross margin.
- Maintain close collaboration with Manufacturing Operations to ensure smooth processes and guide continuous improvement efforts.
- Report to governance bodies and escalate issues as necessary.
- Assist in budget planning and cost control.
- Support the creation of comprehensive project plans aimed at improving product quality and profitability.
- Propose strategic goals within the yearly Brand Roadmap.
- Ensure product knowledge is continuously updated and expanded.
- Manage Technology Transfers related to New Product Introductions.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a scientific or technical discipline, preferably in Life Sciences (pharmacy, chemistry, analytical chemistry).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in manufacturing, development, or technology transfer projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of CMC drug development and the manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management skills, capable of leading complex cross-functional teams.
- Ability to challenge existing practices to enhance competitiveness and foster innovation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
