Gate Attendant Coordinator

Job Summary:

This Gate Attendant position at thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services NA, Inc. requires a highly organized and communicative individual to coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and timely pickups and deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load monitoring and updating systems to ensure accurate tracking and management of freight.
• Equipment management, including preventative maintenance, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain radio and phone contact with trucks, receiving, and dispatch to respond to emergency needs for assistance or repairs.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner to build strong relationships and resolve issues.
• Cultivate relationships with drivers and customers to reduce stress caused by last-minute schedule changes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date written and computerized records and other forms of information.

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Prior experience or exposure to logistics or trucking operations, with a customer service background.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure efficient operations.
• Computer and Microsoft suite experience to effectively manage systems and data.
