Technician with specialization in chemistry and laboratory operations

We are seeking a highly skilled Technician with specialization in chemistry and laboratory operations to join our team at DESY. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for planning and setting up laboratories, including chemistry and bio laboratories, as well as physical preparation laboratories. This will involve designing and implementing gas and vacuum infrastructure, maintaining and repairing lab instruments and infrastructure, and constructing new lab infrastructure using CAD software.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and set up laboratories, including chemistry and bio laboratories, and physical preparation laboratories
- Maintain and repair lab instruments and infrastructure
- Construct new lab infrastructure using CAD software
- Prepare samples and install and operate experiments
- Provide instruction and support to international customers and users, ensuring compliance with safety rules
- Work on administrative processes, including ordering, maintenance, and reporting
- Utilize software catalogues and office products
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technician with specialization in chemical engineering, process technology, or a comparable specialization. You should have knowledge and experience in creating planning documents and using 3D CAD software for construction. Additionally, you should have knowledge in the field of applications with gas and vacuum systems, chemical-biological safety regulations, and preparation of safety documentation. You should also have excellent communication skills in English and German.
