Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to join our team at BioQuant at Heidelberg University. As a key member of our bioinformatics cloud team, you will be responsible for the administration of our existing OpenStack cloud infrastructure and associated storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administration of existing OpenStack cloud infrastructure and associated storage systems
• Scientific support for users in the collection and processing of scientific data on central large-scale devices
• Participation in scientific projects
• Conception and implementation of trainings in the area of Cloud and OpenStack
• Participating in cloud meetings and collaborating with other bioinformatics cloud sites
• Further development of the Bioinformatics Cloud at Heidelberg University according to the needs of scientific users

Requirements:

• University degree or comparable knowledge or an education as an IT specialist (system integration) with professional experience
• Profound knowledge in the administration of Linux servers
• Very good knowledge of the German and English language, both written and spoken
• High competence to work in a team in BioQuant and in the network of bioinformatics cloud sites as well as in communicating with users and project partners
