PhD Researcher - Closed-Loop Behavior Planning for Urban Automated Driving

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Robert Bosch GmbH, focusing on developing novel behavior planning algorithms for urban automated driving systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, programming skills, and experience in automated driving systems or robotics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop novel behavior planning algorithms that can handle interaction between traffic agents
  • Apply machine learning techniques combined with model-based solutions to advance the state of the art
  • Contribute to the definition of figure of merits for the reliability of behavior planning for automated driving
  • Collaborate with a diverse research team, exchanging ideas across multiple projects
  • Evaluate and validate algorithms in simulation and reality on a test vehicle

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics with excellent academic achievements
  • Self-motivated, logical thinking, flexible, team player, goal-oriented, and open-minded
  • Profound knowledge of machine learning algorithms and principles, preferably deep learning
  • Experience in automated driving systems and/or robotics, proven programming skills in Python, C++ is a plus
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), German is a plus
