Role Overview

We are seeking a technology-savvy language enthusiast to assist our Corporate Content Translation Team within SAP's Language Experience (LX) unit. Our team delivers comprehensive language support, including translation, interpretation, and copy-editing across 50+ languages and various formats for both internal and external communications. As a working student or intern, you will collaborate closely with our translation project managers and internal translators on a diverse range of engaging and innovative tasks.   • Assist project managers and translators in overseeing a wide array of multilingual translation and multimedia projects.
  • Utilize various tools for project and translation management.
  • Contribute to the exploration of machine translation and AI tools for enhancing translation processes.
  • Engage in strategic initiatives related to the team's transition to a new cloud-based tool ecosystem.
  • Aid in the configuration of the new tool landscape.
  • Participate in testing activities to ensure new features align with team requirements.
  • Support the team in troubleshooting tool-related challenges to identify root causes and optimize processes sustainably.
  • Create, redesign, and update internal documentation to improve team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate on strategic projects that will influence future processes and technologies within our department.

Qualifications

Are you a student specializing in linguistics, translation, or computational linguistics with a passion for languages? Alternatively, are you pursuing IT-related studies with an interest in translation? Do you have experience with standard tools in the translation industry? Proficiency in MS Office is essential, and familiarity with Adobe InDesign is a plus.

We invite you to contribute your skills and experiences:

  • Enrollment as a student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences.
  • Familiarity with standard translation tools such as Trados Studio or XTM is advantageous; regex skills are a bonus.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is preferred, and knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

We are looking for candidates with strong teamwork abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work independently and proactively. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial, along with the ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is essential, as is a high level of responsibility when handling confidential translation projects.

Team Dynamics

As part of the Corporate Content Translation Service Team, you will collaborate with experienced project managers and translators who excel at meeting customer needs. Supported by our external translation partners, we manage various types of communication requiring translation. Our clients are primarily internal colleagues across SAP's global network.

We handle a diverse range of communication materials, some of which are strictly confidential. Our internal clients span various departments, including the SAP Board Office, Advisory Board, Works Councils, Global Labor Relations, and functions such as Human Resources, Legal, and Finance & Administration.

You will learn to navigate both technological challenges and translation complexities in a fun and supportive environment.
