Job Overview: Manufacturing Test Engineer at Applied Materials

As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our production processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Process Development: Design, implement, and sustain methodologies and operational sequences for the fabrication of parts, components, and assemblies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various engineering teams to facilitate the introduction of product enhancements and new offerings. Manage and execute engineering change requests to support both design engineering and operational needs.
  • Cost Estimation: Analyze manufacturing expenses, establish time standards, and propose tooling and process necessities. Employ DFx principles to optimize manufacturing costs and elevate product quality.
  • Testing Procedures: Create and utilize testing protocols, collaborating with design and software engineering to define test specifications. Engage with test engineering for the design and development of testing fixtures and assist in sourcing activities.
  • Data Evaluation: Collect operational and testing data, assess results, and initiate corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Process Evaluation: Review work methods, procedures, and policies. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of business processes, ensuring that current practices are accurately documented.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify root causes and conduct corrective action analysis for issues encountered during assembly and testing phases, providing detailed failure analysis reports as necessary.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct Process Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis during New Product Development initiatives.
