Responsibilities
• Contribute to the formulation of a comprehensive software verification strategy.
• Provide technical direction in the development, execution, troubleshooting, and release of software testing in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead the testing team in crafting effective test plans while ensuring sufficient coverage for clinical applications.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software architects, developers, systems engineers, and clinical specialists.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, ideally in controls or robotics, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
• Proficient in modeling and simulation software, with a strong preference for MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge of multi-body kinematics and dynamics, as well as experience with position, velocity, and torque feedback controllers.
• Familiarity with real-time software on microprocessor-based systems and experience developing software in a Linux environment (preferably Ubuntu).
• Proficient in various testing methodologies, including SysIL, HIL, SIL, or MIL tests.
• Experience testing software across different software and hardware configurations and developing tests using plant models.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, particularly Python, for automated test generation.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and tools such as JIRA, Git, JAMA, Bitbucket (Stash), and Bamboo.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in medical product development, including hands-on work with medical/surgical devices and knowledge of medical device regulations, particularly IEC 62304.
• Background in large organizations with matrix structures, having collaborated with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers to identify, document, and resolve integration challenges.
