About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Fleet Development department at Fugro. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical engineering projects related to our vessels and maritime systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and implement mechanical systems and components for vessels
  • Oversee and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring effective coordination, timeline management, and budget adherence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge remote operating technology in crewed vessels
  • Enhance the reliability of our diverse fleet, spanning Geophysical Research Vessels, Geotechnical Drilling Research vessels, and Inspection vessels
  • Perform conceptual engineering and CAD sketching works as required to support projects
  • Establish functional requirements for modification works in close cooperation with the Project Manager and other departments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with at least 5 years of experience in marine applications
  • Proficiency in designing, planning, and implementing mechanical systems and components for vessels
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage engineering projects from conception to completion
  • Capacity to contribute to innovative solutions and adapt to emerging technologies
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in English
