Your Role
As a student software developer, you will play a crucial role within our team of engineers. Together, we are designing and developing advanced storage and processing systems for non-relational and multi-model data. Your contributions will directly impact business operations, enhancing efficiency and overall performance. In this position, you will have the opportunity to conceptualize and implement effective algorithms, conduct unit testing, and participate in peer code reviews.
We recognize that each individual has distinct strengths and interests. Therefore, your responsibilities can be customized to align with your unique profile and aspirations. Potential areas of involvement may include implementing spatial or graph algorithms using C++, developing persistence-related code for our JSON Document Store, or creating database plugins in Python or TypeScript to facilitate Generative AI applications.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences
- Preferred fields of study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical disciplines
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Go
- Basic understanding of databases and algorithm design
- Language skills: Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Soft skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt
- Previous work experience or involvement in relevant projects is advantageous
About Your Team
You will be part of the development team responsible for SAP HANA's Multi-model Engines, including the Spatial Engine, Graph and Hierarchies Engine, JSON Document Store, and Vector Engine. Our team consists of technical experts in database internals, and we strive for a comprehensive understanding of our customers' use cases in Geographic Information Systems, Network Analysis, and Generative AI. We value expertise, professionalism, and teamwork.
