Junior Apparel Pattern Specialist

As a Junior Pattern Engineer for Apparel, you will play a vital role in transforming innovative designs into tangible products through effective pattern creation.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with marketing, design, product development, and suppliers to support the 2D and 3D pattern development process. Your contributions will align with the business unit's strategic goals, ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies while fostering a consistent brand identity through quality, fit, and value.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing the fundamental pattern process to identify future business needs and establish requirements across various demographics and sizes. Collaborate on the development of both basic and new model patterns in 2D and 3D, ensuring that all patterns are rigorously tested for wearability. Under the guidance of your supervisor, lead presentations focused on pattern and fit across cross-functional teams. Continuously explore innovative solutions to achieve creative pattern objectives, utilizing new methods and technologies. Provide expertise on fit-related matters during product development, ensuring the highest standards are maintained. Contribute to digital pattern initiatives, including the development of tools and smart solutions for enhanced digital creation. Apply grading principles to maintain consistency in fit and actively participate in the development of pattern guidelines. Consider the relationship between pattern design, material usage, and production yields to optimize fit and profitability. Collaborate with experienced colleagues to develop training materials and manuals for global pattern teams and cross-functional partners. Create virtual prototypes to enhance the efficiency and speed of the product development cycle.Key Relationships:
Creation Center – Collaborating with Marketing, Design, Product Development, and Materials Development Liaison Office/Operations Center – Engaging with Merchandisers and Technical Services Tier 1 – Working alongside Merchandising and Pattern Making Fit & Wear Testing department Innovation teams External CAD and Fit partnersKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient understanding of pattern creation and grading, with the ability to deliver effective and cost-efficient solutions. Capable of interpreting and assessing designs at the model level concerning pattern execution. Strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Proven problem-solving skills and a capacity for innovation when working with diverse groups. Effective written and verbal communication skills in English. Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Product Data Management Systems. Fundamental knowledge of CAD programs such as Gerber. Basic understanding of 3D software like V-Stitcher or CLO 3D. Willingness to travel as required.Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
A degree from a technical college, fashion school, or university in pattern making or grading, or equivalent qualifications. Relevant practical experience through internships or work placements is advantageous.-
