Opportunity Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Underwriter for the London Market to become an integral part of our team. This role is pivotal in shaping the reinsurance landscape for our clients in the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Pricing: You will create tailored reinsurance treaties and coverage options for our primary insurance clients and brokers operating within the London Market.
- Management of Treaties: You will assist in overseeing the treaty portfolio, ensuring its strategic growth in collaboration with departmental leadership.
- Client Relationship Management: You will actively cultivate and maintain international client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and support.
- Portfolio Oversight: You will take charge of portfolio management, developing IT-supported tools and performing necessary administrative tasks.
- Project Coordination: You will contribute to the organization of internal projects aimed at enhancing our operational processes.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant commercial discipline (e.g., economics, business administration, finance) or an equivalent qualification (e.g., certified insurance practitioner).
- Previous experience with a reinsurer, ideally through internships, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in IT applications: MS Office, particularly Excel, SAP, and GEM/Re7.
- Strong communication skills in both German and English.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel.
- A confident demeanor, independent working style, and strong analytical abilities.
