Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Roofing Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Roofing Specialist, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining roofs and roof accessories, inspecting roofs for leaks and damages, and determining the causes and extent of damages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain roofs and roof accessories
  • Inspect roofs for leaks and damages
  • Determine the causes and extent of damages
  • Select materials needed for repair and maintenance
  • Replace damaged components, including roofing baths, shingles, sheeting boards, and joints
  • Fabricate sheet metal and wooden parts, including downspouts, gutters, rain and water pipes, chimney covers, batons, and slates
  • Apply roofing felt, asphalt, and insulating material
  • Erect scaffoldings
Requirements
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade, with a minimum of 30 months of training
  • 5 years of specialized experience in the trade
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade, plus 2 years of experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent
  • 8 years of specialized experience, with at least 3 years performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level
  • German driver's license class B desired
  • English Language Proficiency level A2 and German Language Proficiency level B2 required
Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel within Germany required
  • Working on weekends and holidays, as well as shift work, required
  • On-Call duty required
  • Lifting and carrying up to 66 lbs required
