Laboratory Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Universitätsklinikum Bonn. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory team in the analysis and diagnosis of patient samples.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology techniques such as DNA preparation, PCR, RT-PCR, DNA sequencing, and cloning.
• Conduct serological tests such as immunofluorescence, ELISA, and ELISA-like procedures, immunoblotting, etc.
• Operate cell and virus culture techniques.
• Prepare patient samples for analysis.
• Participate in quality management activities.

Requirements

• Completed training as a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA).
• Experience in or interest in the field of virology or molecular biology.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility after initial training.
• Reliability, stress tolerance, engagement, teamwork skills.
• Participation in occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is desirable.
• English language skills are an asset.
