Position Overview:

The selected individual will oversee various components related to the design and functionality of the PETRA IV facility, including:

  • Creation of software for the initiation of the PETRA IV system
  • Design of beam optics for the primary ring and injectors of PETRA IV
  • Validation of innovative algorithms and tools at PETRA III while aiding in its operation
  • Investigations into beam dynamics for PETRA IV

Candidate Profile:
  • PhD in physics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent expertise and experience
  • Significant experience in storage ring beam dynamics
  • Knowledge of electron optics correction techniques
  • Strong foundation in computing and software development
  • Proficient programming skills, preferably in Python and C++
  • Effective communication abilities
