Position Overview
Vantage Data Centers is seeking a dedicated Director of Development Delivery to spearhead our expanding project management division across the EMEA region. This pivotal role will encompass comprehensive oversight of project entitlements, permitting, and all facets of construction management. As a strategic leader, you will be tasked with managing a portfolio of projects while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and standardize the overall construction program to guarantee consistent project delivery, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
- Develop and refine project management tools and processes to ensure optimal project execution.
- Implement key business engagement processes to facilitate swift decision-making by the leadership team.
- Create a robust Quality Assurance/Quality Control program to mitigate risks and prevent issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, and Finance, to enhance project outcomes.
- Oversee all construction phases, from pre-construction to project closeout, ensuring accountability and adherence to budgets.
- Manage resource allocation and workflow for both internal teams and external contractors.
- Drive daily construction decisions and ensure compliance with all relevant specifications and codes.
- Lead the creation and management of Requests for Proposals for capital projects.
- Support sales initiatives by ensuring project delivery aligns with client requirements.
- Engage in vendor management to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Conduct regular reviews of project budgets and billing to ensure financial accuracy.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and implementing feedback.
- Champion a strong Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) philosophy on construction sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of management experience in the construction sector, with a preference for 10-15 years.
- Proven experience in data center construction management.
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP construction processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluency in English and German is essential.
