Key Responsibilities:
Our Sustainability team collaborates with organizations and government bodies to achieve sustainability goals, including deep decarbonization, climate resilience, and positive social impact. We guide clients through the intricate landscape of climate change, sustainability regulations, evolving consumer preferences, and the energy transition to develop sustainable and profitable products, processes, and services. We utilize and advise on leading frameworks such as Science-Based Targets, Net-Zero Targets, and create innovative digital and financial solutions in partnership with our clients. Our team engages with all segments of Guidehouse, including financial services, energy, life sciences, and government.
- You will make a direct impact by assisting clients on their sustainability journey, addressing pressing sustainability inquiries. This encompasses data collection and analysis, industry research, report writing, developing analytical models, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and presenting insights to clients.
- You will contribute to complex projects and gain experience in project management by overseeing smaller projects and workstreams.
- Your assignments will vary, all connected to corporate sustainability and the energy transition. Examples include:
- Creating a decarbonization roadmap for an industry association
- Calculating a greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint and establishing GHG emissions targets for a global restaurant brand or energy company
- Evaluating physical climate risk exposure and identifying mitigation strategies for a global port operator.
- Implementing a sustainability program for a global fashion brand, including financing mechanisms
- Assisting an industrial firm in procuring renewable energy and transitioning on-site energy systems to lower carbon options.
- Preparing market forecasts for low-carbon building technology providers
- Analyzing ESG-related risks for investors in a global biotech company
- Assessing climate risks and opportunities for a global food and beverage corporation
- Establishing a human rights policy and governance framework for a multinational retailer.
- Supporting an energy company in raising capital for its decarbonization initiatives.
- Conducting a gap analysis and double materiality assessment under CSRD for a multinational corporation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate possesses a strong commitment to delivering client results, coupled with analytical skills and a deep understanding of sustainability issues, decarbonization, and climate change.
- Relevant Experience & Training
- Master's degree in engineering, energy, business, economics, or a related field
- Outstanding academic performance (GPA of 3.5 or higher)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Familiarity with data analytics software such as Power BI, R, or Arc GIS is advantageous.
- Knowledge of climate risk assessments, agriculture/forestry, or sustainability reporting is a plus.
- Strong Analytical Skills

- Proficient in data collection and organization.
- Effective Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

- Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated extracurricular involvement and/or international experience relevant to the position.
- Fluency in additional languages such as French or Spanish is a plus.
