Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Golang to become a vital member of our Traffic Engineering team, dedicated to delivering exceptional user experiences.

Team and Role Summary:
As a key member of our Platform Engineering team, you will contribute to a global Traffic Management solution that supports all Delivery Hero brands. Your primary responsibilities will involve software engineering, focusing on the development and maintenance of user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure tools designed to optimize traffic resources and automate processes. This role offers a unique chance to tackle complex challenges, enhance system quality, and drive technological progress.

  • Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure tools for effective traffic resource management and automation.
  • Offer technical support to ensure the smooth operation and troubleshooting of traffic engineering components.
  • Implement and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to enhance and automate infrastructure management.
  • Manage and optimize the Global Service Mesh, API Gateways, SSL Certificates, Domain Management, Kubernetes Traffic Resources, and Cloud Networking Resources.
  • Mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Actively engage in technical discussions, contributing innovative ideas and driving technological enhancements through RFCs or other collaborative tools to shape the future of our solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Service Mesh solutions (preferably Istio), API Gateways, and cloud networking.
  • Proficient in managing DNS and domain configurations.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and its traffic management resources.
  • Proficient in reading and writing Golang code.
  • Knowledgeable in cloud networking concepts and configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies.
  • Committed to creating simple solutions for complex engineering challenges and producing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Enthusiastic about new technologies and eager to mentor others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in measuring, monitoring, and enhancing latency in complex traffic platforms.
  • Practical experience with the Open Application Model.
  • Previous involvement in managing a technology platform.
