Lead Innovation Specialist in AI and Medical Technology

Your Role
As a pivotal contributor to advancements in AI and Medical Information Technology, you will drive the "Creating Innovation" process, encompassing the generation of ideas, intellectual property creation, project initiation, and management, as well as the technical execution and integration into the primary development workflow.
- Develop and oversee a network of technical specialists within ZEISS, as well as in academic and industrial sectors.
- Conduct systematic evaluations and report on technological advancements in AI and Medical Information Technology to enhance the technology roadmap and the "Creating Innovation" process.
- Identify emerging technologies, evaluate their potential applications and disruptive capabilities, and engage in discussions with relevant Application Experts.
- Generate intellectual property to safeguard innovations in AI and Medical Information Technology and assess existing IP within the expert domain.
- Assist in the formulation and management of technology roadmaps, while continuously enhancing understanding of medical applications through customer interactions.
- Maintain close engagement with technological advancements pertinent to AI and Medical Information Technology, proactively applying this expertise in the "Creating Innovations" process.
- Assume responsibility for one or more technology roadmaps within the AI and Medical Information Technology domain, managing technology development initiatives and effectively communicating strategies to stakeholders across SBU, Meditec, and ZEISS, as well as within the Advanced Development department.
- Facilitate communication regarding development activities with the department and stakeholders across SBU, Meditec, and ZEISS.
- Support strategic decision-making for long-term technology investments.
Your Profile
- Advanced degree in natural sciences, engineering, medical, or information technologies; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in the relevant field of the Advanced Development department, particularly in medical technology and medical device development.
- Strong understanding of current research and industry trends, with the ability to comprehend customer needs and address real-world challenges in innovation creation, from ideation and IP protection to proof-of-concept demonstrations and transition to main development.
- Familiarity with Design Thinking principles and expertise in ophthalmic technologies.
- Proficient in English.
