About the Department

The SAP Group General Ledger team at Deutsche Bank is tasked with managing global SAP platforms utilizing SAP HANA. This team is responsible for the quarterly financial reporting of the bank and the publication of these reports to stakeholders. The team drives strategic initiatives, including the design and implementation of planning and forecasting solutions, cost management, migration of SAP systems to cloud environments, and the integration of advanced AI/ML technologies using SAP products. Additionally, the team oversees the implementation of ESG Target Reporting.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled squad and engineering chapter, contributing to the design and development of complex, large-scale solutions while collaborating closely with product owners and business leads.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent analysis of business processes and design extensive software solutions based on SAP platforms, employing agile methodologies within a large development team.
  • Develop components for the bank's strategic planning solutions using SAP technologies, including SAP HANA with SQL, BPC, SAC, and Fiori UI development.
  • Integrate cloud capabilities and AI models with SAP solutions to enhance financial modeling for cost and revenue forecasts.
  • Collaborate with senior SAP developers to ensure high-quality integration of solutions into existing processes for finance and business clients.
  • Work closely with technical architects and developers to pursue best-in-class solutions.
  • Ensure the reliability and reusability of software through strategic design, including automated testing and performance validation throughout the software lifecycle.
Your Qualifications:
  • A degree from a recognized institution in IT, business administration, or a related field (banking experience is a plus).
  • Extensive experience in designing and programming complex software solutions using SAP products such as SAP PaPM, BPC, BW/4HANA, and maintaining a large ABAP codebase.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML modeling for financial data is advantageous.
  • Experience with SAP BTP, DataSphere, and integrated reporting solutions is desirable.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and cloud services, including Python and JSON, is beneficial.
  • A collaborative team player with a focus on customer-oriented solutions.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
