POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Senior Manager for Governance, Risk & Compliance, you will spearhead the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at risk mitigation, enhancement of the Internal Control Framework, and oversight of adherence to both internal policies and external regulations. You will provide guidance to senior management on GRC issues, collaborating closely with key business and finance leaders, as well as internal and external auditors, to elevate our governance processes and systems. This role is unlimited and based in Munich.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enhance and refine the organization-wide Internal Control Framework to encompass all significant financial and operational processes.
  • Document workflows, identify potential risks, and design appropriate controls in partnership with business units.
  • Conduct control assessments in accordance with established internal methodologies.
  • Support the ongoing Risk Management update process, improve tools, and promote awareness of critical risks and mitigation strategies within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Legal team to enhance the existing Compliance Management System, including policy management, training, and communication.
  • Prepare regular updates on GRC initiatives for management and supervisory boards.
  • Implement and oversee training, awareness, and communication initiatives related to the GRC program.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Internal Controls, or Internal Audit, ideally within a leading Big4 firm.
  • A degree in economics, business administration, or a related field; preferably with a focus on Finance/Controlling and strong academic performance.
  • Solid understanding of processes and a robust background in accounting (particularly IFRS); IT proficiency is advantageous.
  • Experience in business transformation and ERP implementation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EasyGRC or similar GRC tools is a plus.
  • Structured, independent, and solution-focused work approach.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
