The Finance Manager will operate from our office in Aachen, Germany, reporting directly to both the Financial Controller and the Finance Director. This role is integral to the Endeavor Streaming/Mainconcept finance team, collaborating closely with the shared service center and key business stakeholders. Proficiency in both English and German is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Responsibilities
- Assist the Financial Controller with diverse month-end tasks.
- Collaborate with the local accounting team for reviews.
- Generate, assess, and record various revenue and expense accruals in the local General Ledger.
- Compile the monthly reporting package, including the Trial Balance for upload and detailed operational expenditure and capital expenditure reports for month-end reporting and variance analysis.
- Manage monthly management adjustments from business units and execute related reporting.
- Support the HR department in payroll management, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and addressing payroll-related inquiries.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Oversee the AP mailbox; categorize vendor invoices, pursue approvals, and resolve inquiries.
- Maintain the AP tracker to ensure timely capture of all necessary invoices.
- Manage and update the weekly cash flow file to secure payment approvals from senior management.
- Coordinate with the Treasury team to guarantee timely payments.
- Assist the business with vendor onboarding and updates to vendor details.
- Process client invoices and allocate payments to the respective accounts.
- Aid the Finance Manager in the client onboarding process.
- Monitor the AR mailbox and address inquiries.
- Distribute periodic client account statements.
- Conduct credit control activities, including monitoring invoice aging, sending reminders, making calls, and escalating issues to the Commercial team as necessary.
Tax and Audit Coordination
- Collaborate with external tax preparers for quarterly and year-end tax filings.
- Maintain electronic records of all tax-related information.
- Serve as the primary contact for local audits.
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Lead the preparation and management of the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Develop and sustain revenue and expense models to facilitate monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
- Prepare quarterly budget presentations for senior management.
- Oversee the monthly reporting and variance analysis procedures.
- Create and update a monthly Profit & Loss and cash rolling forecast for senior management.
- Assist in maintaining the BPC Planning system and executing BPC packages.
- Collaborate with Consolidations and Financial Reporting teams for quarterly and annual public filings as required.
- Provide custom reporting and financial modeling to enhance business efficiencies during the month-end close and budget/forecast cycles.
- Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial planning & analysis, with a strong understanding of German tax regulations.
- Degree in accounting or pursuing a professional qualification such as ACCA / CIMA or equivalent.
- Familiarity with SAP and Netsuite is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and lookups).
- Proven experience in a similar capacity.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong ability to meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and effective time management capabilities.
- Ability to work in English and across various time zones.
- Experience with DATEV software is preferred.
Work Environment:
Permanent position based in Aachen, Germany. Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
