Job Title: Lead Power Market Strategist

Uniper is seeking a highly skilled Lead Power Market Strategist to join our team in Düsseldorf. As a key member of our Power Market Analysis team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our strategic fundamental long-term power market outlook for Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain our long-term power market modeling and scenarios out to 2050 in close collaboration with our analysts.
  • Ensure effective relationships with stakeholders across multiple teams and locations, and take responsibility for stakeholder alignment on market situations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and challenge input assumptions for our tools and market models, and integrate new technologies like hydrogen.
  • Coordinate the power model administration, development, and licensing.
  • Provide wholesale fundamental outlooks and scenarios as input to project evaluations and investment decisions.

Requirements:

  • Excellent education in engineering, economics, business administration, mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in energy markets and trading environments.
  • In-depth understanding of European power market fundamentals, drivers, relationships, and fundamental modeling.
  • Strong analytical, numerical skills, and IT affinity, with relevant experience in modeling power markets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate different views and mediate between teams.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with additional languages such as German beneficial.
