Electronics Technician (UEMCS)

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician (UEMCS) to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As an Electronics Technician (UEMCS), you will be responsible for planning, inspecting, monitoring, and repairing electronic control systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, electric systems, potable water systems, sewage systems, and other utility systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works as an Engineering Technician (UEMCS) under the general supervision of the Chief UEMCS Section.
  • Plans, inspects, monitors, and repairs electronic control systems for HVAC systems, electric systems, potable water systems, sewage systems, and other utility systems.
  • Adjusts HVAC control settings for most efficient use of energy.
  • Knowledge of the functions, purpose, and operation of the equipment used in HVAC systems and electrical systems to monitor, troubleshoot, or operate the systems from a remote location.
  • Applies knowledge of the operation of data gathering components on Utilities and Energy Management and Control Systems (SCADA systems) in performing repair work.
  • Skills in reading and interpreting diagrams, engineering blueprints, circuit diagrams, schematics of utility systems, and operating manuals of Energy Management and Control Systems and components.
  • Collects data from various utility plants and systems and assists in interpretation and analysis of data regarding energy usage, equipment usage, and maintenance and cost.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Meister Diploma or Staatlich geprüfter Techniker in a trades or crafts field directly related to the position.
  • English Language Proficiency level B1 and German Language Proficiency level C1 required.
